Playing with Powder

by

Timmy: “Mommy, Timmy put powder on hands.”
Me: “Okay.”

I knew there was a bottle of baby powder by the bed, so I let Timmy open it and powder himself. It was a pretty hot day. After he asked permission to “put powder on hands”, I began wondering why he was so quiet. I looked around and saw this!

POWDER BOY. Playing with powder
Powder, Powder, Everywhere!

There was powder on his forehead, his nose, his arms, his hands, his legs, his feet, the floor! All in under 2 minutes of silence. He was playing with powder!

I called his attention to his powder spree. He stood up and began sliding across the room, pretending he was ice skating. “Mommy, look! Disney on Ice!”

It was adorable. I was annoyed with the mess, but it was bliss looking at his happy face as he pretended to ice skate around the room.

I think kids go through this playing with powder phase a lot. This surprise powder incident has happened two times already. I have to hide the bottle of baby powder from Timmy now for fear of having another snow day in the bedroom!

How did you play with powder when you were a child? Does your child do this too? Come share!

Powder play is quite popular in our home too! :) But being the sumkinda-praning mom that I am, I only let the kids play with rice powder, and not the usual powder that has talc! Hehe! :) Hugs, classmate! I love that you’re blogging so regularly! (Ako naman, ‘slow blogging’ pa rin! Heehee!)
