Timmy: “Mommy, Timmy put powder on hands.”
Me: “Okay.”
I knew there was a bottle of baby powder by the bed, so I let Timmy open it and powder himself. It was a pretty hot day. After he asked permission to “put powder on hands”, I began wondering why he was so quiet. I looked around and saw this!
Powder, Powder, Everywhere!
There was powder on his forehead, his nose, his arms, his hands, his legs, his feet, the floor! All in under 2 minutes of silence. He was playing with powder!
I called his attention to his powder spree. He stood up and began sliding across the room, pretending he was ice skating. “Mommy, look! Disney on Ice!”
It was adorable. I was annoyed with the mess, but it was bliss looking at his happy face as he pretended to ice skate around the room.
I think kids go through this playing with powder phase a lot. This surprise powder incident has happened two times already. I have to hide the bottle of baby powder from Timmy now for fear of having another snow day in the bedroom!
How did you play with powder when you were a child? Does your child do this too? Come share!

June 14, 2014 at 8:50 am (10 years ago)Powder play is quite popular in our home too! But being the sumkinda-praning mom that I am, I only let the kids play with rice powder, and not the usual powder that has talc! Hehe! Hugs, classmate! I love that you’re blogging so regularly! (Ako naman, ‘slow blogging’ pa rin! Heehee!)
