No judging on the junkin’!

by

The New Year was welcomed with some junk, a TV series marathon and lots of good cheer. If how I spent my New Year’s Eve is any indication of how the rest of my year is going to be, then I’ll probably gain about fifty pounds but be as happy as heck. 😀

The toddler was up till midnight, and he did see the great fireworks from our hotel room window. Once the novelty wore off though, he got sleepy and poof! He was asleep in a few minutes. My husband was getting ready for bed as well. Me? I whipped out my laptop and watched all ten episodes of “New Girl” while sipping my milk tea and eating junk.

It was ME time.

Quiet time for Mommy.

By the way, before midnight I drank two cans of Coke and ate a small bag each of Clover chips and Snacku. WHAT?! Oh yeah. Here’s the thing. I don’t drink soda anymore, nor do I munch on junkfood much. But I had this intense craving on the last friggin’ day of the year and so I gave in. I ate it all in under two hours. Of course I felt like throwing up afterwards. I haven’t eaten that much unhealthy food in a short span of time. It was so much fun though! I felt like I was 12 all over again.

My tummy begged to differ though, as it taunted me with its gradual expansion. Whatever, I thought. I’ll just up my fiber after the new year. You get the idea.

Then I had milk tea. Super awesome Wintermelon milk tea from teaberi which my husband bought a few hours before. It was so good. So friggin’ good. I had it with blueberry muffins and some Doritos.

Then I wanted to throw up again. Did I mention I’m lactose intolerant? Milk tea and I are not best friends but I love it anyway.

As I was finishing the last few episodes of New Girl, I vowed not to eat unhealthily anymore. It’s amazing how three hours of straight unhealthy eating could feel sooooooooo good and soooo bad at the same time. I really wanted to barf but I think my happy quotient stopped me from throwing up. Nonetheless, I vowed that all my meals should be healthier! I will up my wellness quotient! I will be fit! I will eat healthy from now on!

Then I had muffins and cookies for breakfast.

My New Year's breakfast. Don't judge me.

Please don’t judge me.

I’m back to healthy eating though, so no worries! I’ve got it all under control… so far. Just don’t wave a bag of Snacku under my nose. It is my Kryptonite.

Gusto ko rin ng Snacku. Okay lang yan basta paminsan minsan lang. We’re only human after all. Avoiding soda for a year is a tremendous feat. That’s my husband’s goal for 2012. Tingnan natin kung hanggang kailan sya magtatagal. haha…

Welcome to the No-to-Soda Club! Hahaha, well, i should’ve started one when I was 3 since as you know i never liked it anyway. But of course, i couldn’t do that to your Dad, or to mine 😉 Anyway, now that your father might not really care much (?) and my Papa shouldn’t be drinking soda, I should start that club. I’ve been lobbying for it just with my husband (who is really excited to meet your dad because of his fave soda). One step at a time. Eating healthy is also one of our resolutions this year (again). We have to be more concrete in our goal weight-wise i think. But so far it’s just, lessen the M&Ms, Maui onion potato chips, cinnabons and other junk; less fatty/oily food; and eat more salad or vegetables with our meals. Sabi nga nila if you eat more good stuff then you won’t have much space for the bad…it did work, when i was pregnant.

So, here i am, i lost all the baby weight easily BUT i also lost the healthy preggy appetite so I’m now eating more than i should. And since i can eat all the bawal and the unhealthy things i couldn’t before well… i’ve gained more and i fill out the legs in my pants and skirts more than i did while preggy. I think we need to add one more goal–exercise! Gud lak!

Oh, maybe they can use soy or almond milk for you instead?

Who’s that girl, who’s that girl, it’s Jess! My sis B and I were just singing that when we were over her place for New Year’s day partay. We love New Girl too! She’s like that really awkward sister we almost had hahaha though minsan bordering na sya sa medyo nakakainis pero cute eh…like a sister talaga hahaha

Hmmm, tama bang ginawa kong email itong comments area mo?

    Love,
    Ate B
