My LEAP Trilogy Experience: Love and Greatness

by

It’s official. I’m a LEAP graduate! Words aren’t enough to capture how happy I am, and how excited I am to move forward. Some of you have been asking me what LEAP is, since I refer to it quite often in my blog. As I’ve finally graduated, I can tell you about LEAP more wholeheartedly now!

My Personal Experience with the Trilogy

LEAP has been amazing for me. Everyone’s LEAP journey is different. For me the gift of LEAP was gentle power. But before I tell you about that, let me tell you about the first two workshops of the trilogy: FLEX (Foundations of Leadership Excellence) and ALC (Advance Leadership Course).

FLEX: Embracing Your Greatness

FLEX (Foundations of Leadership Excellence) is a 2-day workshop that heightens your sense of self-awareness; you learn truths about yourself that are empowering, that are beautiful, that are GREAT! Sometimes we downplay our strengths to the point that we forget how great we are. FLEX helps pinpoint in you what is great about you. What I love about FLEX is that the journey is experiential and personal. So my takeaway from the program will definitely be different from yours.

ALC: I Surrender

Next would be ALC, which is about overcoming fears and coming face to face with truths about yourself you may be refusing to acknowledge. It’s a very revealing and illuminating process. Through ALC I faced baggage I didn’t even think I carried, but was apparently digging roots in to my life and holding me down. My gosh. After ALC I felt so free. I knew myself more and knew how I could make my relationships work better. So liberating.

Some of my LEAP friends told me that during ALC time, I had a “Don’t come near me” aura. But ALC helped me become more vulnerable and open. I was surprised at the improved quality of relationships I had simply by learning how to approach people warmly, and welcoming others with warmth too. It wasn’t an easy experience, but it’s led me to where I am now. My ALC/LEAP friends have shared that after ALC, I became more approachable. And then throughout LEAP, I became more loving.

LEAP: My Love Nurtures Greatness

LEAP is the final part of the trilogy. LEAP (Leadership Excellence Achievement Program) is a 60 to 70-day coaching program. It’s like the practical application of FLEX and ALC. You’ll be assigned a personal life coach who you’ll touch base with regularly, as well as a support group. It’s a beautiful process, and I am amazed at how my perspective on relationships, career and life in general has become lighter and more grounded because of LEAP. LEAP’s gift to you will be different from the gift I received. It’s a very personal journey.

That was how gentle power was born for me. I discovered I could still be responsible and committed, but not controlling. I learned how to be more vulnerable. It was so difficult! But through the love of the coaches and my council, and my own surrendering, I was able to let go of being controlling and embrace being more loving. Gentle power.

My LEAP Portrait
Of all the pictures I have in LEAP, this portrait best captures how I’ve transformed.
LEAP helped me be more loving towards others, but most importantly, towards myself. LEAP helped chip away some of the rough edges I chose to hang on to, and what emerged was the gift of gentle, loving power.

Welcome to the LEAP community Toni! :) It took me years to complete the trilogy – napilitan pa ko sa FLEX and ALC truth be told kasi company sponsored. Haha. But I felt light and so free din after ALC – even remember hugging my boss and thanking him for making me experience it. LEAP was definitely my favorite part of the trilogy. I learned so much din from LEAP. But the best thing I love about taking it is that I met and became friends with some amazingly wonderful people.

Hopefully you’ll remember all the things that you gained from LEAP and continue on living your life with a gentle, loving power even years after the program.

This is so interesting Toni – and I agree, the picture you of you in black really is different from the other pictures before – I feel you’re more “put together” and confident!

      Hi Denerie! :)

FLEX is a leadership program. :) There are modules, some talks and activities that you participate in, all geared towards helping you embrace your greatness.

Here’s what I tell my friends who ask what I learned! :) My biggest learning was about my significance. One of my biggest fears is speaking up, especially during big meetings. I’m usually afraid to say the wrong thing, or look stupid 😛 FLEX enabled me to see that I have greatness within me, and for as long as I come from a place of compassion, trust and being responsible (3 values that resonated with me personally, and what I needed the most help with actually), I could embrace my significance more. I also realized that significance is not just about speaking up for the sake of saying something. Being significant meant having something positive to contribute to the discussion, because you believe it can work better. So I spoke up more. Sometimes my contributions were not acknowledged. Sometimes they were wrong. During those times of “rejection”, I initially felt bad but after awhile. I began to realize that I was coming from a place of responsibility and commitment each time I contributed, so I shouldn’t feel so bad! I gave it my 100% and it didn’t work, so… what could work better next time? Then I move on. Other times the contributions were spot on, and that felt super awesome. Through FLEX, I’ve been learning to embrace my significance both in my professional and personal life. This was my personal FLEX journey.

What I love about FLEX and the whole journey with ALC and LEAP is that the learnings aren’t theoretical. You really get to live and apply them. That’s what they meant pala when they said FLEX is an experiential journey.

Drop me a note if you have more questions! I’d love to tell you more about FLEX and the rest of my journey. <3 I'm excited for you, and look forward to you taking FLEX soon!!!

      Many thanks,
      Toni
