Two years ago, I wrote about how stickers can help keep toddlers occupied. It sure worked for my toddler then, and it still works today!
This Care Bears sketch pad is Timmy’s sticker book.
Sticker Book Tip #1: Use A Drawing Pad
Instead of buying sticker books, I’ve stuck with (no pun intended) a drawing pad. It’s cheaper, and some of the stickers can be peeled off easily for transferring to other pages. Throw in some crayons as well and you keep toddlers occupied with coloring too. Double amusement!
Sticker Book Tip #2: Keep Toddlers Occupied with a Variety of Stickers
One of his favorites. It has its own corner in the sticker book.
Some stickers were stuck on top of one another. Toddler art!
My son loves animals and letters, so that’s what I make sure to look for when I go to stores. I buy most of Timmy’s stickers from Regina*, a gift shop in Greenhills Shopping Center. You can buy sheets of stickers for as low as P10.
SpongeBob Squarepants running free from Bikini Bottom
Some of Timmy’s sticker sheets also come from his pediatrician. They’re his rewards after a check-up! When he uses these doctor-given stickers, we point them out to him. “This Mickey Mouse sticker came from Doctor D! Remember when we went to her clinic and she gave you these stickers?” The rewards help build a better association with doctor’s trips. (At least I hope they do.)
Timmy loves elephants. This bunch made him so happy.
A sticker book can keep toddlers occupied pretty well in restaurants. When we have a long wait for our food, they’re super helpful in tempering a tot’s impatience!
Have you tried this tip before? How was it worked for you? Could you give tips on how to keep toddlers occupied, stickers-related or not? C’mon and share!
* Regina can be located at the 2nd floor of Shoppesville, Greenhills Shopping Center.

July 12, 2013 at 10:56 am (11 years ago)Maia has outgrown the stickers phase already (sadly). She’s now moved into sketching and doodling. So I make sure my mommy bag has at least a notebook and a pad paper to keep her occupied. I also am currently into hoarding pens of all kinds because she prefers to use pens than pencils.

July 13, 2013 at 8:30 am (11 years ago)This is a cool idea! I was always wondering where to put the stickers we have collected from birthday parties. I need to buy a sketchpad for each of my kids and pack them in their diaper bag.
