How to fold a fitted sheet

by

Folding a fitted sheet is so dang hard. Pinterest shows you how it’s done, though not without much trial and error! Still, it was a success to convert a huge crumpled ball into a flat square of a sheet.

Here’s the pin that helped me through it:

Doesn’t it look super easy? Oh yes, it LOOKS easy. Trying it out for real is another thing. I think it took me about a dozen tries before I got it right.

Compare Figure 4 in the above pin with my slightly crumpled sheet. It was crumpled to begin with, but got even more crumpled after so many attempts:

Finally got it right.

But LOOK! IT CAN BE DONE!

Hurrah!

My Mom was so pleased she asked me to do another fitted sheet. Uh-oh. I tried following the same instructions but guess what? It took me another dozen or so tries before I got it right.

Success twice!

It was a pretty awesome exercise. Now I’m looking forward to practicing on more sheets. Got any fitted sheets I can practice on? I can’t guarantee I’ll return them to you wrinkle-free but at least they’ll be folded nice and square-ish. :)

Hi Toni. I learned folding fitted sheets via Martha Stuart. Been doing it for the last 10 or so years now. Its does make a whole lot of difference though. I have a question for you though. Do you iron your sheets?

Hi Zita! When it’s straight out of the dryer, we don’t iron the sheets. We just flatten it out with our hands. :)

Great job! I learned this method via Martha Stewart on Oprah many many years ago and have taught it to my daughters and helpers.

We miss you, Toni. :( But hope all is well with you. :)
