Me: (calling from the bedroom) Husby, my head is aching. Can you get me medicine please?
H: (goes towards the kitchen) Where from?
Me: The medicine kit.
H: Where’s that?
Me: It’s in the cabinet under the blender.
H: (gets kit out, opens the kit) Which medicine?
Me: (sighs) Look for the red and blue pills — please get one for me.
H: (shifts through several tablets and capsules) Where are the pills?
Me: It’s in a little container from Mama.
H: (goes into the bedroom with a glass of water) Here, Wifey.
Me: Thanks Husbo.
This incident inspired me to organized my medicine kit. My medicine kit used to be a mess of tablets and capsules, one that further worsened my headache when I needed a pill right away. All you want is for the pain to go away but having to sort through all those foil and mats of medicine just doesn’t help. So one afternoon, I made time to sift through my medicine kit.
I threw out all the expired ones. Much to my dismay, there were quite a lot of expired capsules and tablets. My bad, I wasn’t keeping track. And then I put all the cough medicine together, all the headache pills together, all the runny nose fighters together, etc. You get the idea. Once segregated, I put each group of meds into a resealable sandwich bag, and labeled it accordingly. The box of meds is now much more organized, neater and not a pain to sort through anymore. Whew. I think I can bid my headache-inducing-messy-medicine kits adieu!

October 9, 2007 at 4:00 pm (17 years ago)I have a canister (our medicine ‘box’) full of tablets and capsules. They are mixed and disorganized. Last time I was sorting through them, I also saw a few expired tables and threw them away.
Nice thinking! Putting them in zip bags and organizing them based on usage is a great idea.

or what symptoms you have and what we have onboard so the box does not get messy
everything else inside the box are numbered according to the reference sheet…
sa bahay ko i have a small box inside the cupboard for this halo halo nga lang 😉
but since i travel a lot i have a small ziploc with all my basic med.

So far it’s still in the plastic bag. I’m really so tamad to organize it. Just thinking about it gives me a headache
