Hardys: It Gets Better with Time

My sisters and I used to fight like nuts. From bopping each other on the head with Barbies to having screaming matches across rooms, there was always drama in the house. There were a lot of awkward moments growing up. I remember super hating it when my littlest sister would hang out with me and my high school friends. I felt like she was cramping my style. It felt like such a huge embarrassment then. Looking back, I know I was the silly one. Today I love hanging out with both of them. We still have our disagreements and occasional shouting bouts, but it’s nothing a little time and a shared plate of food, or a shared drink, can’t fix.

Sisterhood. It just keeps getting better with time.

My sisters and I love eating and drinking together. Food always has a way of bringing people closer together, and that’s very true for me and my sisters. A good bottle of wine does that really well too. We got that from our Mom, who studied wines intensely once upon a time. One of my favorite moments these days is when my sisters and I are gathered around the kitchen island, sipping from our wine glasses and eating bits of crackers, chocolates and cheese. It sure is a far cry from when we’d gather round popcorn and Cheetos. Oh wait, we still do that too.

Things do get better over time. Sisterhood is definitely like that. Like a fine wine, ‘no? Like Hardys too. After 160 years, it just keeps getting better.

They are pioneers of quality blending techniques, and have garnered over 3000 awards in the last decade. It’s a good, established brand. My Mom highly recommends it too. 😉

I’ve been drinking more wine lately. I’m no wine expert, but I’m into widening my wine palate. I’m especially interested in food pairings. I’ve started off with whatever wines are available at home, but I’d sure love to carry this interest on. That would make for another great shared experience with my sisters — our glasses of wine, good food to match, good conversation best of all. It’s the type of experience that just keeps getting better, getting richer with time.
