A few weeks ago, your Daddy surprised me with this pretty bouquet of flowers after a day at the mall. The reason? Just because. These are the little things that endear your father to me. He sure knows how to make Mommy feel good, especially when I’m grumpy and very tired.
I hope you’ll be as sweet and thoughtful as your Daddy when you grow up!
It’s wonderful to have such a supportive partner, especially during one of the most trying parts of pregnancy.
A few nights ago, I was tossing and turning, finding it so hard to sleep. Every position was so uncomfortable and I was feeling so tired already.
“Remember the relaxation exercise in birth class earlier?,” H reminded me gently. “Let’s do it.”
“Breathe in,” he coached. I took a deep breath.
“Breathe out,” he coached again. I exhaled.
“I am,” he gently whispered. I inhaled.
“Relaxed,” he said. I exhaled.
We repeated this “I am relaxed” breathing exercise several times till I felt better. Then we did another relaxation exercise that helped me calm down.
A few minutes later, I was relaxed but still wide awake, while H was heavily snoring. I guess it relaxed him greatly too!
I smiled and whispered into the evening, “Your Daddy’s so funny.” The baby gave a gentle kick. And with that, all three of us drifted off to dreamland.
