FLAT TUMMY WATER PIN

Flat Tummy Water — don’t you like the sound of it already? When my Mom shared this recipe she stumbled upon awhile back, we knew we had to try it! What I like best about Flat Tummy Water is that it’s a delicious way to stay hydrated. Because you’re hydrated, you feel full and guard yourself against weight gain. Plus, all the water helps flush out your toxins. After one day of drinking it, I felt healthier already.

Note: This is not a meal replacement! Drink it like you would regularly hydrate yourself. I drink mine through the day so it makes me feel full. I feel like I’m drinking a salad actually.

My Mom got this recipe from Step Into My Green World. Click on the link to read about the health benefits of cucumber, ginger, lemon, mint and water.

Here’s a 15-second video of how my Mom and I prepared our Flat Tummy Water! The recipe and more pictures of the drink follow after the video. :)

Pretty easy, right? After you cover the bottle or pitcher, refrigerate overnight! Drink the next day. :)

FLAT TUMMY WATER
{Make sure ingredients are organic!}

In a BPA-free water container, add 6 cups water, 1 tablespoon grated ginger, 1 thinly sliced cucumber, 1 sliced lemon, 1/3 cup of mint leaves. Infuse the mixture overnight. Drink it the next day! Make sure it stays refrigerated. Many thanks again to Step Into My Green World for this recipe!

FLAT TUMMY WATER INGREDIENTS

My Mom used turmeric instead of ginger for her pitcher of Flat Tummy Water. I used plain ol’ ginger.

FLAT TUMMY WATER MORNING

It was such a refreshing morning drink! See how the water is a bit translucent? The first thing you’ll taste is the lemon’s kick, then the cucumber. The ginger was very subtle.

FLAT TUMMY WATER TOP SHOT

I liked chewing on the mint leaves when they’d end up in my glass. Nope, I didn’t eat the lemon and the cucumber in my water. :) You can use the cucumber, lemon, ginger and mint for a second round actually.

FLAT TUMMY WATER AT HOME

Water’s okay, I have no trouble drinking it. I did find myself drinking more of this Flat Tummy Water though. It just tastes so much better! Because I drink more of it during the day, I feel fuller longer too. That’s where the weight management kicks in, yes?

FLAT TUMMY WATER ON THE GO

I poured part of the infused mix in my tumbler. I’ll bring it with me when I go out tomorrow. I’ll be bringing Flat Tummy Water to work too!

Another reminder: It’s very important that we use organic ingredients! We’ll be soaking these ingredients in water so it’s best that they’re all pesticide-free. The lemons we used weren’t organic though, so we peeled the lemons.

Will you give this a try? Come give it a whirl and let me know how it goes for you! Here’s to more healthy drinking! Cheers!

Hi Ann! There’s nothing dangerous in the drink itself, but it’s best to check with your doctor before drinking this. In dishes, mint can be substituted with basil leaves. I haven’t tried that myself though so if you do decide to give it a whirl, let me know how it goes!

Hi Toni! Wanted to try this for so long :) When you finished drinking all the water, did you still use the ingredients to put in some more water that’s good for the next day?

Hi Erlaine! If the veggies are still looking good (the cucumbers in particular), you can still use it for the next day. This is particularly for the pitcher that’s left in the ref. It stays chilled so the cucumber and mint leaves will take longer to ‘wilt’. But for my tumbler, I dispose of the veggies (or eat them!) at the end of the day if they’re not too soggy. If they are, I use fresh ones for the next day. :) Enjoy!

    Hi Toni!
Its a great recipe, and I tried it for 5 days :)
Feeling good about myself, but as I have acidity problem, it increased the acid!
I dont think its bcoz of lemon, bcoz lemon has never caused me problems. But I feel cucumber in infused water is causing problems.
Could you please tel me if i can replace cucumber with something equivalent?!

    Thanks!

I take a hand full of raspberry, three slice lemons, mint leaves, and fill with water in my water bottle.

Hi! You can drink this water everyday. You can choose to consume only the water, or eat the veggies too. I personally prefer just drinking the water. :)

I tried this and only drank the water with out drinking regular water. The result was after two days I was so weak I got sick. I had no energy. I noticed that I couldn’t walk my usual mile. My advice would be to drink equal amounts of regular water.
