Dear Friend,
I’ve been wanting to visit, really, but my farm needs a lot of tending. Grapes go to waste after a couple of hours, the pigs are all over the place, sunflowers take so long to grow but are worth the wait, a farm house is so expensive so I have to work at the marketplace twice as hard… Being a farmer is hard but once the trees bloom and the tomatoes are ready for picking, you feel all the work is worth it.
And I don’t even have to sweat the slightest bit.
It’s another game I’m addicted to: Facebook’s Farm Town. Perhaps not having a green thumb in real life makes me enjoy this game even more! My Mom got me into it (she’s even more of a Farm Town addict than I am!) and now I am absolutely hooked.
All you do is plant some vegetables and fruits, harvest them, sell them at the marketplace, build your farm. If you need more money, go to the marketplace and get a job harvesting someone else’s crops. It’s so easy, user-friendly and [dangerously] involving.
Here’s a screenshot of my farm:
It needs a lot more landscaping, that’s for sure, but I love it. I wish I could walk through the sunflower and coffee fields for real. If you squint real hard, you’ll see my animals are all over the place. I need to fence them in sometime.
Music plays while you farm. It’s this happy-working-song-kind-of melody that I find soothing. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the lullaby my baby will be sleeping to once he’s in my arms. Yeah, I hum it even while I’m NOT playing Farm Town. I’ve even caught my husband humming along with me and he doesn’t even play the darn game. Funny thing is I feel my baby kick while I play Farm Town. Maybe he wants in on the action too. Maybe he’s dancing along to the farm’s music.
So yes, I shall go check your blog out in a little bit. But for now, please excuse me while I harvest my tomatoes. 😉
Your friend,
Farmer Toni

May 5, 2009 at 1:52 am (15 years ago)Have fun with your tomatoes. I haven’t played the game, yet, but have a feeling that I really shouldn’t. I get into those games WAY too much and probably won’t ever leave once I start.
