Eating at Kitchen

by

Kitchen is one of the restaurants H and I frequent when we’re at the Greenbelt area. We always order the same meals because they’re consistently delicious. I also like the casual, no-frills atmosphere of the place. Here’s a typical meal we share:

Deep-fried Squid with Vinegar and Chili

Head Master: Deep-fried Squid Head with Vinegar and Chili. Yummy! I love munching on this appetizer. There have been several occasions when it wasn’t available, and we’d be so disheartened. Of all the dishes we order at Kitchen, this one’s our favorite. I haven’t found a restaurant that serves deep-fried squid as good as this.

Tomato Soup

Tomato Soup. I like that it’s not too sweet and not too sour, but still very tomato-ey. There are huge tomato chunks in the soup that I enjoy.

Hot Dive: Sesame crusted tuna sashimi

Hot Dive: Sesame-crusted tuna sashimi. I love how the fleshy sashimi is complimented by the nutty crust. It’s served with wasabi too. Sadly, this pregnant woman can’t have any of this raw delight. Trust me though that it’s delicious.

Seafood and Meat BBQ: On Barbie's Cue

On Barbie’s Cue: Seafood and Meat Barbecue. It’s surf and turf on sticks! This is H’s usual main dish order. The barbecued meat is brushed with pesto (I think!), which gives it a refreshing kick. It makes for a hearty meal as it’s served with rice.

Cure-all: Korean BBQ with Rice

Cure-All: Marinated Korean Beef with Rice. I love Korean Beef Stew, but since this isn’t served at Kitchen, this one’s pretty close. The beef is moist and meaty, and has that sweetness a Korean Beef Stew has. It makes for a great partner with rice.

I also like their salad called “Eat Your Spinach!” which has fresh spinach, lettuce, a soft-boiled egg, caramelized nuts with a vinaigrette dressing. As for their desserts, maybe YOU have recommendations. We’re always too stuffed with the appetizers and main meals to get to dessert.

That’s our food trip for today. 😀 Which of these dishes interest you? Right now, I’m craving for some deep-fried squid head. Oh yum.

We’ve got to try that fried squid head. We frequent Recipes for their Gising Gising, Cascada for their prawns and panna cotta, and Cafe Breton for desserts and coffee.
