Crafty Hattie is a specialty shop born out of love for crafts, DIY products and a purpose to serve. When Lei, owner of Crafty Hattie, got in touch with me for this product review and giveaway, I was especially curious about the charity-aspect of her business. Scroll down to see how I enjoyed my Crafty Hattie goodies, my chat with Lei, and how YOU can win in our Crafty Hattie giveaway! :)

Crafty Hattie Love

Toni: Hi Lei! Could you tell me more about Crafty Hattie? How did it begin?
Lei of Crafty Hattie: Crafty Hattie is born out of love for crafts/diy-projects and with a purpose to serve. We currently sponsor kids via World Vision PH and also a weekly feeding program called House of Prayer in Roxas City.I’ve always been a fan of making something out of ‘nothing’. Or adding that extra ‘chemical x’ that would produce amazing results. For example, the used boxes that are practically garbage, cover it with paper books or add some washi tapes, and that garbage turns to something again. And for parties, using paper straws vs normal straws liven things up the party and gives your visitors a unique experience.

Toni: You mentioned that you donate your proceeds to World Vision. Why this particular organisation?
Crafty Hattie: I work in an environment where sustainability is the key to a project success. Prior to establishing CraftyHattie, I’m already a sponsor of the World Vision Philippines program and a weekly feeding program called House of Prayer in Roxas City. The person behind Crafty Hattie wishes to contribute more. I wish to sponsor more kids, but my current household income doesn’t permit me to do so. And there’s also the thought of how do I sustain sponsoring World Vision PH and the feeding program. That’s why I’ve established Crafty Hattie for this purpose.

Toni: What makes Crafty Hattie different from other online stores that sell favors/washi tapes?
Crafty Hattie:I choose to sell party and craft supplies because I’m a sucker for DIY parties and projects! I love looking at DIY parties photos usually held abroad and a part of me wishes that I could host that party too. But the problem is, the party supplies that I like are not that readily available to us. Same with washi tapes too! Come May 2013, I started looking for suppliers until I finally found the right products with a very nice quality.

When I first started planning this business, this is my initial thought. Why would they choose craftyhattie over other suppliers?

My edge would be Crafty Hattie’s products, pricing and service. We offer high quality products but at an affordable price. You can also expect an answer from us right away and can order everyday. There’s no scheduling when you could only order. Our customer is our number one priority and we make it appoint that it would be hassle free for them.

There are a lot of washi tapes in the market, but it just isn’t the right fit. I know some tapes that are being sold the same price as ours but I know the quality isn’t that good. I know that since may 2013, ive looked for washi tapes and party supplies suppliers. Ive ordered a few sample and from that sample ive chosen the best of the best. Same thing with party supplies. Ours is made of high quality and food safe grade ink. We got great feedback when we were doing a bazaar. One lady was looking at our products saying, “I bought some before for the same price but the quality of yours are better.” She ended up buying!

Our main edge over other by suppliers is Crafty hattie is driven with purpose. A purpose to serve. And we love what we do.If I think of something that I would be doing for a long time, then might as well do something that you love. And I really love crafts. I treat washi tapes as my ‘babies’ and it gives me a joy when they’ve found their new home.

Wow! Wow! These would be perfect for the small birthday party that my two daughters ( one is turning 8 on May 9 and the other is turning 10 years old on May 19) are asking me to prepare for.

I’ll be having crafternoons with my bff’s this summer plus craft workshops with my kids and their friends and those favor bags and washi tapes would definitely add a special handmade touch to my events. :)

What would you use these Crafty Hattie flat favor bags and washi tapes for?

My youngest daughter will be turning 2 this May and I would love to use these Crafty Hattie flat favor bags. The kids will be surely delighted to see their sweets (even the not-so-expensive candies will look adorable) wrapped beautifully. These will surely add more color to her party!
