10 It’s-Not-What-You-Think-Things for the Home (aka Cool things for the Home)

by

Shoutout: Cool things for the home! This won’t be a post of people caught in the act (though that would be interesting), but of objects and trinkets that are not what they seem. *insert Twilight zone music* Can you guess what these items are?

Done with your guessing?

Here are the answers!

This is called a Noooodle Spaghetti Measure & Trivet. Not only is it good for your hot plates, but for measuring pasta too. Repeat after me: This is the trivet that holds the hot pasta dish whose noodles you measured with this trivet. (via)

These are Mini Lantern Salt and Pepper Shakers with white LED bulbs. Perfect for romantic candlelit dinners when you’ve forgotten the candles. Or not. Might be better for camping trips. (via)

I prefer mine with lots of olives, but this will do. This Martini Lamp is sure to brighten up any dining room or household bar with its sleek design and cute little red pimiento bulb. I wonder if James Bond had one. It could illuminate his bedroom with a romantic (and a little sleazy) red glow. (via)

Any morning meal will look good on this Breakfast Serving Platter with 3D Food. For the 24-hour breakfast feeling, you can use this whimsical plate for lunch and dinner too. Pour some honey on the waffles for an even more realistic effect. Just try not to munch on them. (via)

Again for breakfast lovers – these Breakfast Food Pillows will make any sofa or bed extra cozy. They remind you of why you love those early morning meals as you lay your pretty head on them. Dreams of perfect toast with jam and butter, sweet maple syrup on hot pancakes not included. (via)

Do the kids of this generation even know what TV color bars are? Educate them with this TV Test Pattern shower curtain. Great for couch potatoes and when you still want to have a feel of the TV in the bathroom. Unless you still watch TV in the bathroom. (via)

It’s not a broken plate but a Slice Plate. Great for that slice of pizza, cake or pie. Good for those who are watching their food intake — one slice, that’s it! Also cuts down on dishwashing time.

Don’t worry, we’re not adding to your already piled up bedside reading. This stack of books is actually a nightstand! Called Poetry, it has four drawers. Perfect for putting in your reading glasses and extra bookmarks. I can hear bookworms’ jaws dropping now. (via)

Are you a talker? Are you a cartoonist? These Chat Plates were made to look like speech bubbles. Cute, aren’t they? Perfect for those who don’t run out of anything to say. Let’s see if you can resist putting them over your head and taking pictures for your blog. (via)

This is the best way to make your kids eat their vegetables. Er, their cake vegetables that is. Bake up a garden with this Garden Patch Cakelet Pan. It bakes 20 little cakes with four vegetable molds — carrot, cabbage, radish and pea pod. Decorate your fresh-baked veggies with colorful icing. (via)

How many did you get right? 😉

Now, if you were allowed to take one home, which item would you choose?

I guessed 5,7 and 8. :) Those are cool stuff!

I’d want to go to for the breakfast plate to amuse my guests but they might try to steal it so I think I’ll take the nightstand home. Oh, I also like the cakelet pan! :)

Galing! :) 3 out of 10 isn’t bad, considering how surprising these things are!
