  1. Super Easy Petchay Dish. Saute a chopped onion and 1/2 tsp. of chopped ginger in a wee bit of oil. When onions are transparent, add in the chopped stalks of Petchay Tagalog. After about two minutes, add in the Petchay greens and saute. Add 1 tablespoon of patis (fish sauce) per bundle of petchay used. Stir well. Serve hot!
  2. Super Easy Pesto. Mash 2 cloves of garlic, 1 cup of minced basil leaves, 1/2 cup of olive oil, 1/2 cup of parmesan. Add walnuts if you’d like. Or you can throw everything in a blender and blend till smooth. Serve with toasted bread. I use Pesto as a dip for shrimps. I also mix in Pesto with my rice. Pesto Rice tastes heavenly.
  3. Good things come to those who wait. I told my Mom-in-law about my wonderful pesto-mashing experience (think mortar and pestle and grinding the basil for a good 10 minutes). I didn’t mind the whole manual bit at all. I think she took pity on me and decided to donate her unused blender. Thank you Mommy! Second donation of the weekend: An unused gigantic toaster oven and grill. H and I were out with my best friend E and were talking about getting that appliance in S&R. E goes NO!!! I’ll give you mine! I won it at an office raffle and haven’t even opened the box yet! And so we landed two new appliances over the weekend. Thank you E!
  4. Christmas card a-writing. I’ve finished writing Christmas cards to those who wanted to participate in my “reviving the old art of snail mail greeting” activity. I’ll send them out within the week. I was humming Christmas tunes as I wrote each one of you. What a great way to put you in the mood for the holidays!
  5. Fixin’ up the closet. Thanks to all of you who left words of wisdom on my last post. H and I have decided to have the closet fixed. We have grown to love our rented unit and chose to spread the love all the way to that closet fixture. I’ll use it to stack my extra books and magazines so they’re not lying around the living room.
  6. Dress up for him. I read an article on “sparking up your marriage” and one item said to change the way you dress a little bit. If it’s your habit to wear the same ol’ jeans and shirt, spark it up a bit not just for your hubby but for you as well. It helps to get out of that mold every now and then. I didn’t pay it much attention. I like wearing a shirt, jeans and my Happy Feet sandals. As we were walking in the mall though H goes, “Hon, why don’t you wear skirts?” I thought about it and said I was too fat to wear one. You know how the rest of that conversation went. That got me thinking anyway. I’ll go shopping for skirts next week. Promise!
  7. “Do one thing everyday that scares you.” Got that from my sister’s blog. Hmm. Nice thing to think about. Today, I’m scared of eating kare-kare because I’ll gain weight. I should get over my fear and eat it for lunch. Heehee. What would you do today if you weren’t scared?

Have a great week friends! :)
