My Cheesy Garlic Bread Recipe

by

This is always a hit during family gatherings. Whenever we prepare this for a party, I always make sure we set aside one extra loaf for my grandpa because he absolutely loves this.

Toni’s Cheesy Garlic Bread

What you need:

2 loaves of french bread

Grated cheese (we use up a whole big bar of it)

1 cup of minced garlic

1 tsp of dried thyme

1 tsp of dried oregano

1 tsp of mustard powder

2 tbsp of butter

*Note: I hardly measure ingredients. I use my hands (and my gut feel) to measure ingredients, so all these are just approximated. Feel free to alter the measurements!

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees or so.

2. Mix the cheese, garlic, dried herbs, mustard powder in a bowl. Add the butter to make the mix a bit sticky and smooth. Everything fully blended into one another? Wonderful.

3. Now grab those loaves. Make several diagonal slices on each loaf, about half an inch apart depending on how thick you want your bread to be BUT make sure you don’t cut through the whole loaf — just make little diagonal pockets.

4. Now get a little bit of butter and rub ’em in between the slices of the bread. This adds extra flavor and will make the next step easier to do.

5. Grab a bit of the cheesy mixture you just had and stuff in the little bread pockets you made. Because of the butter you just rubbed onto the bread, it’ll stick to the bread better.

6. When you’re done stuffing all the pockets, wrap each loaf in aluminum foil.

7. Lay them on a pan, then stick ’em in the oven for about 15-20 minutes.

What you will have:

Golden brown toasted bread with a cheesy garlic flavor. Perfect on its own. Perfect with pasta. If you like it tangy, add even more garlic. Enjoy!
