Prosperity candles have been an annual New Year’s eve tradition in our family. Before the clock struck 2014, my sisters and I lit our own sets of prosperity candles. It was a pretty sight!
Here are tips on how to you can make the most of a prosperity candles tradition!
Tips for Prosperity Candles Success
Use good quality candles. I bought our candles at National Bookstore for only P30.00 each. I thought it was a steal, but actually, it wasn’t a very good buy. The bottom of the candles blackened and melted easily when we were trying to melt the bottom (so it’d stick to the foundation when it was made to stand). Compared to other brands I bought before, these candles melted pretty quickly! Well, you get what you pay for.
Schedule time wisely. You will be lighting your candles thirty minutes before midnight. Therefore set up the prosperity candles even before 11.30 pm. At 11 pm, my sister and I began setting up the candles.
Use tin trays to catch the wax. To prevent the sticky wax from messing up your front porch or your floor, set the candles on a tray. We used tin trays as the base for the candles. (See pic above)
Make sure nothing flammable is nearby. Common sense! Be safe also if you’re doing this outside. You don’t want a firecracker to accidentally be lit by these candles.
Don’t leave burning candles unattended. This is a safety precaution for candle burning, whether they are prosperity candles or not!
Use a candle snuffer to kill the flames come midnight. You can blow out the candles with your breath, but be careful that none of the wet wax hits you in the face!
With the flames out, gently lay your prosperity candles side by side in order of length. This way you can more easily measure which blessing you’re most abundant in!
My Prosperity Candles results, in order of blessings abundance: Brightness, Peace, Love and Health, Material Wealth, Money, Good Spirit then Life. Can someone interpret this for me?
Finally, just have fun with it! I’ll try to repost this when 2015 is nearing. 😉 Happy new year!
