Along came baby AND a load of office work! Since my second trimester started, my workload has doubled. I consider it a blessing despite the longer to-do list. The good thing is I’ve mastered going home at just the right time (no more overtime!) and I’ve learned how to pace myself while working. While I love what I do, my baby is my number 1 client after all! 😉 And that’s why this blog has been scarce with updates. Between juggling work and resting, bloghopping has been put on hold. With a two-day holiday coming up, I hope to catch up on my blog reads!
So we’re 5 months pregnant. Woah, how time flies. Here are some questions I’ve been getting the past few weeks and my answers:
“Are you on the way?” Yup! I’m really showing now! I can now say I don’t look I stuffed myself silly at a buffet (ah, the good ol’ days…). It’s a baby belly now, not a buffet belly. I’ll share a decent picture soon. 😉
“Are you gaining enough weight?” / “Your tummy’s big! Are you at the right weight?” My OB advised that I needed to gain a little more weight during my last check-up. It’s a good thing my aversion to rice has disappeared. And boy, do I love pork chops now. And guavas. Mmm. I’m pretty much on track now.
“Do you feel the baby kick yet?” I feel butterflies in my stomach — the good kind! It’s still too early to feel my baby kick, but I have been feeling flutters. Run your fingers lightly over your skin — that’s how it feels. It tickles and feels so good. I can’t wait for those streetfighter kicks soon.
“Have you decided on a name yet?” Yes and no! We’ve picked out a name for a girl, but for a boy, not yet. We’re not too worried. Inspiration will come soon!
“Have you bought anything for the baby yet?” Nope. I don’t have much space at home anyway! H & I plan to prepare baby space around May. No rush for that yet.
“Are you taking birth classes?” Honestly, I’m on the fence with this one. I’m still thinking about it. I have to decide soon though!
“How big is the baby now?” At 20 weeks, about 6 inches from head to bottom. Think of a solo papaya or a very large mango!
“How are you?” I’m doing very well. My energy came back during the second trimester, and I’m enjoying it as much as I can! But I still have off days when fatigue strikes. I’ll write a separate entry on pregnancy “pains” (heartburn, indigestion, brain drain, etc.) and fixes soon.
And here’s MY question: How could you love someone you’ve never met? I already feel my baby has a personality. There’ve been times my tummy would be angsty, but upon singing and talking to the baby, things would calm down. Last night, my tummy was so uncomfortable until I cradled it with my hands while I slept. While I’m certain there’s a scientific and logical explanation to it (ex. uterus is expanding, maybe even gas), I prefer to think of it as contact with the little one. My heart is just filled with so much love with this person I’ve never met. While I enjoy carrying this baby inside me, I am looking forward to the day I cradle our child in my arms. Soon, soon.

Thanks for the pregnancy updates, they are heartwarming and filled with so much helpful information.

April 9, 2009 at 10:48 pm (15 years ago)oh my, how time flies nga! 5 months na pala 😀 how unfair naman na you need to add weight pa samantalang ako…. by the time i was 5 months preggy, pina-stop na ni OB ang aking preggy vits dahil sobrang lobo ko na daw, hahaha!
as for loving someone you’ve never met… heck to the yes! mala-savage garden ba ang background music? hehehe! but then, just when you think you can’t possibly love the baby more, when you meet him/her in person, your heart further expands to sizes you couldn’t even imagine.
