- Eat when you’re hungry.
- When you’re cranky, take a nap. Things will be better upon waking up.
- Don’t hold back excitement! Throw your hands up in the air and stomp your feet!
- See the world from a different perspective by lying on the floor, or spinning around in many circles and then lying on the floor.
- It’s more fun to eat with your hands.
- Stop and smell the flowers, and pick up rocks, pull out grass, stomp in the mud…
- Listen closely. You’ll hear the birds from a neighbor’s house singing and the silent humming of a plane from way up high.
- Play pretend at least a couple of hours a day. To infinity and beyond!
- Read a book upside down. Maybe it will tell a different story.
- Play with your shadow.
- Run barefoot as often as you can.
- Stand your ground and say “NO!” (Not applicable in all situations. — Mommy’s note)
- Never hold back laughter.
- Don’t hold back your tears.
- Go down slides more often, then go back up and slide down again.
- Get off your butt — walk around more, explore more.
- Clap your hands when good things come your way.
- Don’t talk to people you don’t feel like talking to.
- Bring a toy with you everywhere you go. You never know when you need to up your happy quotient.
- Never leave home without snacks.

January 24, 2012 at 6:07 pm (12 years ago)Ms. Toni, this is so nice! I like it too! We really learn a lot from our kids. I hope I can “re-learn” how to be really happy with simple things. Just like how are babies do =)
Anyways, congratulations on your new blog design! It’s very pretty! =)

January 25, 2012 at 4:30 am (12 years ago)I was inspired by these 20 reminders. I especially like number 8 “Play pretend at least a couple of hours a day. To infinity and beyond!” We need to play around sometimes especially when we’re so stressed out from work. What do you think is the most applicable to you of all the 20?
This post made me smile today! Thanks for lighting up my day.
